Design and test of the bilateral throwing soil-covering device for straw mulching machine in orchards

Aiming to lack the function of soil covering in developed orchard straw mulching machine (OSM), a kind bilateral counter-throwing soil-covering device was eliminate fire risk caused by layer. The suspended at rear OSM. Its core component pair throwing wheels installed on both sides frame. Hydraulic motors drove take on-site and cover adjustment range space between 1.4-2.1 m. Based analysis quantity, width, thickness uniformity layer, power consumption, key parameters such as radius, number vane, minimum rotation speed were determined. It proved that layer better than unilateral, bottom top throwing. blade cutter consisted straight curved blade, sliding-cutting angle 14°-40°. field test results showed had good performance with width 1.4-2.2 m, (TSL) 23.2-40.7 mm, standard deviation (SD) 1.4-2.9 100%, leakage rate zero. established model, trenching depth, angle, wheels, has determination coefficient 0.9757 can be used guide operating parameters. reduced consumption impact load 64.77% 60.88%, respectively. This work provides type new equipment for mechanization technology arid semi-arid orchards.
